When planning the decor for my new place, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration on chic and affordable pieces that add an elegant touch. I love the look that a delicate tea set adds, especially as an organizational piece for jewelry. Ladylike pearls, vintage baubles and bangles seem to fit perfectly, even when in disarray in a vintage tea cup and saucer. This particular set, given to me from my grandmother, is the perfect addition to my bedroom.
Although I've been lusting after the gorgeous bold colors from the S/S 2012 runway, I can't help but lean towards a ladylike look for fall. I love combining a neutral palette and classic structured pieces for a sophisticated feel. These pointed cream and black flats from Michael by Michael Kors and a simple leather tote are on the top of my list for the season. And adding a bold red lip and pop of leopard print create a vibrant feel to a neutral monochromatic outfit.
After a long weekend of moving, painting and rearranging, I am starting to nestle into my new apartment. I love being in the hub of the city, in walking distance from my favorite restaurants and stores and hearing the city noise from my windows.
Starting with the living room, I've decided to stick with a classic black and white theme with a hint of gold and red hues in the decor. A simple vase of orchids, chevron print Missoni for Target candle and decorative books (featuring Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and The ELLEments of Personal Style) add a bright touch to the room. Since decorating is a gradual process, I love the idea of continuing to search for the next piece.
Each NYFW S/S '12 runway collection has been almost as breathtaking as the next. From feminine details to dramatic, yet graceful flowing fabrics - I can't stop obsessing over all of the amazing looks. Here are a few of my absolute favorites from the runway thus far...

Although I am not in New York City this fall, as originally planned, I have still found time to catch the live-stream runway shows and stay updated with the latest S/S 2012 collections.
Everything is so lovely. From bold and beautiful - bursting with vivid colors and creative collaborations to subdued and chic. I've been taking notes on my favorite looks that have been showcased thus far and am constantly updating my Tumblr with my favorite videos and snapshots from the shows. I plan on updating (once my personal schedule slows down) with my overall favorite trends and designers of the season.
Until then, xoxo kathrynelise
