LATELY

This week has been busy, to say the least.
With seven client events and a weekend fashion show in one week, I spent most days working late and running all over the city. Here are a few snap shots from the past week:

1. A new outfit from Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH.

2. Rearranging my side table after entertaining guests for the weekend.

3. Pretty peplum dress from Standard Style that got me through the fashion show and post-celebration.

4. A sneak of the lovely models on the runway.

RUNWAY WEEKEND

Psst! I'll be away from Everyday Chic for a few days as I focus on a week filled with fashion and shopping events. From retail receptions to a two-day runway show inspired by fashion through the decades, I'll be busy working behind-the-scenes on several projects this week.

On the bright side, plan on several photos and snap shots to come!

BEAUTY BASICS

To be honest, I've never been the type of girl that spends tons and tons of money on beauty products. Don't get me wrong, I love testing out new lipsticks and have a slight obsession with nail polish. But when it comes to the basics - I like to stick to my favorites.

1. Eco Tools Brush Set - From high-end to drugstore finds, when it comes to makeup brushes I have tried them all. After winning a set of Eco Tools makeup brushes from a Skirt PR giveaway, I've been sold ever since. Eco-friendly, soft and an all-around great applicator for the full face.

2. Lash Blast Mascara - Mascara is kind of my thing. Having naturally light lashes means mascara is my best friend, at least when it comes to makeup. For a very affordable brand, Cover Girl's Lash Blast mascara is one of the best I have ever laid eyes on and I'm sticking to it.

3. Classic Essie Polishes - Working a full-time job often makes it hard to squeeze in a weekly manicure. And although I have a fairly leniant office dress code - hello, PR is all about creativity - I often reach for neutral polish shades first. I've found that adding a touch of glitter to a neutral mani is the perfect way to add a hint of sparkle.

4. Bumble and Bumble - I confess: I am addicted to my hair iron. From curling to straightening and everything in-between, the amount of heat that touches my hair each week is probably not for the best. The mending masque by Bumble and Bumble is a hair saver for heat damaged hair.

6. Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' Eau de Perfume - I love trying new scents and often switch out my favorite perfumes each season. However, my go-to has always been Marc Jacobs Daisy. Light, fresh and feminine, there is something that is classic and always chic about this particular perfume. I decide to purchase the set with travel size rollerballs, in addition to the bottle, to keep in my handbag for touch ups.

7. M.A.C concealer - Working 8-hours a day {and beyond} doesn't always do wonders for my face, especially when it comes to the area underneath my eyes. For a longlasting concelaer that gets the job done, I can always count on M.A.C Studio Finish concealer.

So, what are your beauty basics?

WHITE OUT

Perhaps it's the extreme heat that has triggered my latest obsession: white-on-white.
Whether worn for daytime business meetings, dressed up at night or for a day of lounging, I love the idea of layering light, white layers together to create the ultimate summertime look.

Here are my {day-to-night} all white outfit inspirations:

Day: Lightweight palazzo pants + cropped knit {with a hint of glitter} for a day at the office.
Night: Peplum top + pencil skirt {with a pop of hot pink} for a girl's night.

Day: Crochet skirt + tank {with delicate accessories} for a day of errands.
Night: Button down blouse + tailored pants {with neutral pointy toe heels} for dinner & drinks.

SHOPPING GUIDE

Mid-July is here already, which means it's that time for summer sales.
With stores stocked with more clearance and sale signs than ever, it's often difficult to make smart shopping decisions when being blinded by deeply discounted prices.

So, whether you have been lusting over that perfect summer handbag since March or just want to boost your summer style before the season comes to an end - here are my tips on which pieces to take the plunge on.

Summer Sales Pieces To Invest In:

1. Colored Chino Shorts - Bright colored chino shorts made a bold style statement this season. And with the classic cut and fun summer-y hue, these shorts are sure to become a closet staple. Still not convince? Pair them with a knit sweater for fall and keep them around for warm seasons to come

2. Stripes Tee - Let's face it, stripes are everywhere. This timeless trend never seems to fade, making now the perfect time to invest in a quality lightweight tee. Pair it with your favorite shorts, denim or high-waist skirt for the office.

3. Delicate Jewelry - Oversized gemstones and bold baubles are back in style {in the best possible way} this season. Although these fun pieces add extra shine to any outfit, a delicate piece will never go out of style. This thin knot ring is sure to become an everyday outfit essential.

4. Woven Clutch - Woven accessories are on-point this season. At first, I took this trend as one that would eventually fade. However, when my bestfriend showed off her woven clutch to me and boasted that it was a vintage piece from her grandmother, I realized that this is a fit for any stylish wardrobe - for years to come.

5. Metallic Sandals - If you haven't picked up a pair of metallic sandals this season - stop reading this immediately and start your hunt for the perfect pair! Metallic sandals {I prefer gold} can be dressed up or down and are a nice alternative to wedges.

7. Bright Bandeau Suit - A good quality swim suit will be more than worth it's money if you enjoy spending time in the sun & water in the summer. Now is the time to pick up a suit that you wouldn't have purchased full-price, but will guarantee to hold it's structure for seasons to come. Look for a style and color, like red, that will never lose its appeal.

8. Multi-colored Bangles - It's all about the arm party right now. And why not add a little color to your wrist? Pick up a pack of fun multi-colored bangles in neutral hues that can be worn all season

Happy {Summer Sales} Shopping!
